Niacin, when taken in large doses, blocks the breakdown of fats in adipose tissue, thus altering blood lipid levels. Niacin is used in the treatment of hyperlipidemia because it reduces very-low-density lipoprotein (VLDL), a precursor of low-density lipoprotein (LDL) or “bad” cholesterol. Because niacin blocks breakdown of fats, it causes a decrease in free fatty acids in the blood and, as a consequence, decreased secretion of VLDL and cholesterol by the liver.[7]

By lowering VLDL levels, niacin also increases the level of high-density lipoprotein (HDL) or “good” cholesterol in blood, and therefore it is sometimes prescribed for patients with low HDL, who are also at high risk of a heart attack.[8][9] An extended release formulation of niacin for this indication is marketed by Abbott Laboratories under the trade name Niaspan by prescription in the United States; Slo-Niacin, made by Upsher-Smith Laboratories, is available over the counter.

energy drinks-new energy drinks bhip global new mlm, well about 3 years ago i was a heavy user of energy drinks like monster, rockstar and ripp it. little did i realize how much stimulants and by products where in these drinks. one day, i had an attack, i thought it was a heart attack. i went to the emergency room over 15 times until i was diagnosed with gall bladder disease. the gall bladder is the little green sack that sits under your liver and catches the biles from the liver and secretes into the stomach as needed. well with overload of stimulates my gall bladder finally seized up on me and became defective. i never ate fatty foods, but, i did 3 years worth of heavy unhealthy energy drinks.

i like my energy because i have two kids and a dog and so on. so, i need it. but, now i have to make a change for the better not only for my body but for my health in general.
