Thanks.
No, goji berries will not help you gain weight (unless you eat an insane amount, which you most certainly cannot afford) or muscle (you don’t gain muscle on fruit).

The only way to gain weight and/or muscle is to consume more calories than you burn, and exercise. The berrie could help, but you would need to eat a lot. Good job on not eating a lot of red meat. If you’re going to eat meat, don’t get it at a fast-food chain. Cook it at home so you can trim off the fat prior to cooking it. Just one beef rib is enough.
You can also get protein from whole grains (100% whole wheat bread), nuts (just buy a can of mixed nuts), and certain vegetables.

Kid obviously isn’t going to have access to a lot of food. Tell him he can’t have a hamburger, few slices of pizza here and there is just stupid to me. If you’re active enough, skinny and bust ass in the gym. Your body will have NO choice but to use these calories to build some muscle. Will he gain a little fat ? Possibly. Yet I rather be the bigger muscular guy in the gym with a little fat. Then that scrawny kid with abs. That’s the way I see it.
Oh and kid screw goji berries. They’re expensive as hell. Go buy some whole foods, eggs, whole milk. Ground beef is cheap. Rice is cheap, potatoes also. Oatmeal, grits are awesome.
Have dad buy you some whey protein to take after workouts. There’s some carbs you can get called maltodextrin or waxy maize is even better. THat keeps your muscles real full during workouts and refills after workouts.
eat red meat, eat kangaroo for all I care. Just try to get some form of protein every 2-3 hours. I’ve know kids who have gone from a 160 lbs to over 210 by eating taco bell, pizza, mexican food, and some clean food. They busted ass in the gym. Guess what he packed on a lot of mass and leaned out some at the end and looked like a BEAST.
Listen and talk to the bigger guys in the gym. Especially the ones who went from skinny to huge. Trust me you’ll learn a lot. Take what most say with a grain of salt. Cause a lot of people speak nonsense k kid?
So you need lots of protein and carbs + good fats. Yet concentrate on eating more then you burn!! This is key. I suggest getting on a good upper/lower body split or a bodybuilding split like a 3 way routine. Where you’re hitting muscles hard at least 2 times a week!!!
Don’t do that one muscle a day bull crap. Who do you think is going to grow more the guy who stimulates his muscles twice a week and who eats like a bear. Or the guy who works muscles once a week and trains like pansy and eats clean as a whistle?
Eat clean and eat pizza, hamburgers when necessary. Just don’t eat mayo. It sucks……
I’d shoot for at least 1.5 2 grams protein X Body weight. and a lot of carbs!!
